The challenge
Our SCADpro team was tasked by the UX designers at The Home Depot to reimagine the current The Home Depot app with a tool to help DIYers with their own projects.
Our clients, The Home Depot team, provided us with their How Might We statements to move forward with.
How might we help customers complete DIY home projects?
How might we have a personalized, interconnected shopping experience?
How might we help customers have more immersive shopping experiences?
Final design
Our approach
As a team, we explored the unique challenges people face when completing DIY projects and set out to make their experiences easier, and more successful. Using a strategy that mixed virtual and in-person solutions, as well as updating existing resources within The Home Depot, we created a new end-to-end experience for customers.
With the Home Depot app’s new Garage feature, customers have one place to go for their entire DIY experience, from planning, to buying, to building. As a new section in the app’s main navigation, people have easy access to a singular resource that consolidates new and existing features to offer the best guidance for completing projects.
From the moment of inspiration to hammering the final nail, The Home Depot Garage provides an end-to-end experience. The Garage allows Home Depot to become more than just the place to buy materials; it is now a go-to resource during all the critical moments.
